We’re a small but growing digital and creative studio in Edmonton, AB looking for an ambitious web developer to join the team. We work primarily on WordPress, Shopify and branding projects. Occasionally more custom or static sites but nothing too large that our small team becomes inundated.
We’re looking for someone who can work with us full time, 40 hours per week. Typically 9-5 and offer flex hours, work from home options.

Do you possess the following?
- At least 3 years experience writing code.
- Experience with RWD, BEM, OOP and cross-browser testing.
- Experience with PHP/MySQL backends (especially WordPress).
- Experience with git.
- Experience with task runners and dependency managers (Grunt/Gulp/LESS/SASS/SCSS).
- A desire to create modular, reusable and maintainable code.
Your first 6 months
You will be working very closely with the Overhaul team to dream up and implement innovative solutions for our wide range of clients across multiple industries.
You will be coding WordPress & Shopify themes using our framework.
Update existing codebases/sites and contribute to projects coded by a team.
Contributing to the overall development-direction of the company through monthly dev-meetings.
Test websites for speed, code and visual errors (QA).
Use graphics programs (Sketch primarily but occasionally photoshop & illustrator) to review and extract assets for processing (compression, etc.) and development.
Responsible for using documentation to ensure that project specs are always adhered to.
Everything in the first six months, plus more of the following:
Give feedback on mockups and site architecture from a development perspective in preparation for development or estimating.
Plan the development strategy, quality assurance, timelines and action items for the team.
Test websites for speed, code and visual errors.
– Eventually we will be creating a lead-developer role who would be responsible for making all development-related decisions for the company. Including; onboarding new development team members, mentoring team members, reviews and more.
